Water Well Drilling Equipment Package

Specify the borehole. Price the complete system.

Quick answer

A water well drilling package should identify the rig, circulation equipment, drill string, working tools and support items separately. An air-DTH arrangement and a mud-circulation arrangement need different equipment schedules. A rig depth label alone does not establish the required compressor, pump or tool sizes.

Build the equipment schedule.

Each line below is a scope item to confirm, not a standard included accessory or a pre-priced kit.

Scope itemBuyer informationSupplier confirmation
Rig and mountingTarget depth / diameter sequence; ground report; site accessExact configuration, power unit, mast, pullback and transport state
Air-DTH routeProposed hammer, bit, rods and operating conditionsCompressor pressure AND delivered flow; model-specific hammer data; hoses, connectors and lubrication
Mud-circulation routeHole programme, circulation proposal and available waterPump duty and drive; suction / discharge lines, handling and recirculation scope
Drill string and toolsRod length, outside diameter, thread drawings and quantitiesRig interface, adapters, bit / hammer / casing selection and handling tools
Support and deliveryDestination, spares needs and unloading constraintsManuals, starting spares, packing list, inspection and support responsibilities

Choose the circulation route before pricing auxiliaries.

A quotation can offer air drilling, mud drilling or a defined combination only where the offered rig and tooling support it. Ask the supplier to explain the proposed system against the hole programme. Do not add an air compressor to a mud-only quotation simply because the rig has the same depth label.

Treat compressor selection as a compatibility decision.

Atlas Copco publishes drilling compressors with pressure / flow choices; this supports asking for both fields, rather than selecting by engine power alone. Rockmore provides hammer-specific manuals. Use the actual offered hammer data when matching air demand; those references do not establish compatibility with a RigSpan catalogue configuration.

Make quantities visible.

State the number and length of rods, working and spare bits, adapters, hoses and any casing items. Identify equipment already owned by the buyer. A photograph showing a compressor beside a rig does not establish that the compressor is included in the sale.

What must be confirmed for these examples?

The 200 m trailer listing describes air-DTH or mud drilling options, while the 400 m crawler listing publishes an operating air range. Neither is an order-specific bill of materials. ST300 trailer dimensions are labelled packing size by the supplier; ask for the actual packed layout, loose items and gross weights before freight booking.

The schedules and comparison questions are RigSpan editorial guidance. Other manufacturers’ references explain their own systems and do not imply affiliation or compatibility.
